The focus of our program at this age is player development. This philosophy includes improving players individual soccer technique (ball handling skills), their decisions in possession of the ball and off the ball (tactics), their love of the game (training & game mentality), and their overall physical capabilities (fitness, balance, & coordination). The program will also focus on developing a basic understanding of team concepts, which includes small group defending and attacking tactics, and transition between the two.

From U9-U10 our focus is on training small groups of players for success. Training consists of small group tactics like 2v1 and some positional play. Technical training is focused around performing skills faster in tighter spaces. Players will build in numbers to focus on larger systems of play at 7v7.  Focus throughout these age groups are to build possession out from our GK and to our defenders moving up the field.

Training consists of small group tactics like 2v1 and 3v2 and some positional play.  Technical training is focused around performing skills faster in tighter spaces. Players will build in numbers to focus on larger systems of play at 9v9.  Focus throughout these age groups are to build possession out from our GK and to our defenders moving up the field.

At these ages some of our teams will begin to travel and play higher level state and regional level competitions as they become capable. Examples of these tournaments are:  IYSA Premiership, IYSA State Cup and Presidents Cup.  In past years we have taken teams to USA Cup in Blaine, MN and on European Tours to Spain and Italy.

TESC’s senior team approach is focused on developing the player within the team.  While still focusing on individual player development there is much emphasis on a player’s role within the team, team attacking and defending concepts, and systems of play.  High school level teams will participate in state and regional level tournaments along with various college showcase tournaments for our top-level teams.

This new advanced year-round program is for players for whom soccer is their Number One Priority.  Our goal for these players is to help them excel at the high school, collegiate, and potentially professional level and beyond.  This program is for teams playing at the 11 vs 11 level typically starting at 13U.
